The Scott# 4 is a 1875 reproduction of the Scott# 2 postage stamp. To tell the difference between both stamps you must look into the eyes. You will see that the reproduction stamp eyes have a droopy, sleepy look that you will not find in the original 1847 stamp. Although there are a few more differences that you can look for, most stamp collectors can tell the difference by the eyes. This reproduction was never a valid postage stamp but it is included in the U.S. Philately by the Scott number system .This Site is sponsored by www.toys4dogsncats.com and in time will review every stamp made by the USPS. If you have any questions or find that I have made an error, send all correspondence to azwholesales@gmail.com I hope that you enjoy the wonderful world of stamps.
